Fleagles stepping out at Candle Light Inn

Barb and Bill Fleagle out on the town with Bill’s Uncle Ben and Aunt Fanny.

These are my parents, Barbara and Bill Fleagle, with Bill’s Uncle Ben and Aunt Fanny (born Frances Taylor Guthrie). No date is given, and the note on the back is strangely worded: “Greeting to Catonsville of Barbara & Bill & home from the west of Fannie & Ben At Candle-light Inn”. The participants in this classy double date are all standing in front of the hostelry referenced in the note, the Candle Light Inn in Catonsville.

This photo was taken in the late 1950s. I was surprised to discover that the Candle Light continued to operate as a restaurant until a just year ago (sometime around the end of 2013 or January 2014). The building remains and, last I heard, was destined to be renovated and used as a funeral home. – mdf
